It is very easy to use, and has pre-existing holes for air circulation. I put this on last November, did not bury it into the ground, just left it loose on the tree. It has survived snow, rain, and heavy winds. No evidence of pest infestation or animal destruction. It is mostly solid, so it does protect from the sun if you have grafted trees.
